Your ‘5 a Day’ On Mental Health

When you hear the term mental health

Whats the first thing that comes into your mind?

Do you think about good things like being healthy or feeling happy or do you think about bad things.

The answer is almost always the same mention mental health and people think about problems, feeling bad and being ill.

But whats the first thing you think of when you hear physical health?

If your like most people you think about going to the gym, eating healthy, feeling good and looking after our bodies.

The cultural of physical health is so much more positive than mental health. We are taught to look after our bodies with so many different ways but when it comes to the health of our minds we are in the dark.

We all have mental health and what we do every day effects it.

If we can look after our bodies then we can look after our minds.

So if we can look after our body by working out then what can we do about our minds?

There are many ways of looking after your mental health. There is no right and wrong answers, just what works for you.

The starting point is for you to think for yourself.

So.. heres the question

If we can look after our bodies by eating 5 fruits and vegetables a day then whats the 5 a day we can do for our minds?

Think about 5 things that YOU can do that are good for YOUR mind?

Everyone’s will be different and its interesting to hear what others do to keep their mind healthy.

Here’s my list and what I do for mine

  • Exercise
  • Staying in the moment
  • Make a list
  • Talk to friends
  • Give into temptation
  • Read a book
  • Pet something furry (dog or girlfriend)
  • Watch some comedy

If you have any other ways of looking after your mind I’d love to hear it.

Your mental health is more important than what you think
