5 Things You Need To Let Go Of…

5 things to let go of to be happy, have more energy and feel more confident.


  1. Let go of toxic people in your life.

There’s an old myth that frogs will pull down other frogs trying to escape a pot of boiling water.

In everyone’s life, there will always be people who will resist, threaten and sabotage the possibility of self-improvement.

Cutting toxic people out sends a key message to yourself.

You’re saying: “I have value.” You’re prioritizing your happiness over someone else’s dysfunction.

Once you recognise how toxic people can erode this basic sense of self-worth, it becomes harder and harder to allow them in your life.


2. Letting go of negative self talk.

Who’s writing your story? Is it you or the voice in your head?

You see 12 months ago I went to an event that legit not only saved my life but transformed my outlook.

I went to see Paul Mort and I took on his 3 day live event call Uncaged.

If you don’t know Paul there’s two things you should know.

1. He’s not for everyone.

2. It’s certainly not cheap.

But I believed in him. So much so that I went all in I still remember saying to him. “THIS HAS TO WORK.”

His reply was simple.. ” This stuff works if you do.”

But anyway.. I wrote down a sentence that has stuck by me and it said “80% of your thoughts are negative.”

Now it’s important to note that you can’t un think these negative thoughts but you can learn to question them, and not fall victim to them which for me at the time I was. And for the majority I work with they do too.

Rewind a year ago when I was very much in what I like to call the pit.

That dark space of anxiety overwhelm and self sabotage, it sucked feeling like I had a dark cloud following me around and that nobody understood, and how my story was different.

But if you would of told me back then I’d have my own facility that was transforming lives I’d of told you that you where mad.

Simply because that’s what I was telling myself.

I had built so many barriers that was leaving me blind to the possibility that I could actually do it., and that I did have the power.

You see to achieve anything in life it’s either a skill set issue or mindset one.

For me it was simply the mindset.

On a daily basis especially with new clients I hear negative self talk such as I’m only down 1lb this week.

And straight away they are diminishing the positive result.

Much like we all do from time to time.

In order to overcome negative self talk to achieve what you want it’s vital that you start questioning your thoughts and getting clear on exactly what it is that’s holding you back.

Is it your skill set? Lack of knowledge? What steps to take and how?

Or is it your mindset? Lack of confidence? Or complete lack of motivation?

3. Let go of worrying about the future.

Daily people are feeling guilt and shame from living in the past.

Or stress overwhelm and chaos from living in the future.

Very few are choosing to be present in the now.

So stop trying to predict the future.. you can’t.

Unless your some sort of legit witch wizard or sorcerer in which case send me this weeks lottery numbers.

Things are so much more unpredictable today because of the complexity of our society.

And it bugs us…it eats us up slowly from the inside and causes this vicious spiral of worrying and anxiety.


Stop wasting your time thinking about what CAN happen and start spending your time MAKING SOMETHING HAPPEN TODAY!

focus your energy on only the things you CAN control, which are:  Your Thoughts and Your ACTIONS!

Your missing the best time of your life.

There is so much you miss in life when your head is in the clouds worrying about an uncertain future.

Be in the present moment.  Force yourself to focus on what’s really important in your life – your family, friends, health and the rest.

They say, “things work out in the end” because there is some truth to it.

Worrying about the future will not help you deal with it.

From a very personal experience, I believe that in order to stop worrying about the future, whether it’s your business, your career or  your life, you’ve got to come to the realization that while we may have the latest technology available to us on our fingertips, we’re not anything but human.

We can’t predict, we can’t control and we’re only here for a short time.

So forget the future.  Get in the present and enjoy every single moment.

4. Let go of regretting past mistakes.

At any given moment you have the power to say this is not how the story is going to end.

Sometimes we do or say things we regret, it’s called being human.

Far too often we punish ourselves for these mistakes.

Forgive yourself. It’s easy to say, but so much harder to actually do!

We all mess up sometimes, whether it’s lashing out at a friend, or engaging in a self-destructive behaviour.

With those mistakes often come overwhelming feelings of guilt. Shame. And in some cases humiliation.

As an imperfect person, you will make mistakes in life. Face it.

You will hurt people sometimes.

You will have regrets. It’s part of living in a less-than-perfect world.

But you have a choice.

Either your past will keep you in a rut of guilt and shame…or you will accept it for what it is and experience the freedom to move on and enjoy the now.

Self-acceptance is critical to your emotional health, so don’t miss out!

Forgiveness is a choice, but also a process.

It’s choosing to stop hating yourself and cutting yourself down, but instead, seeing yourself as a valuable human being.


5. Let go of the need to please everyone.

I have a saying taken from Uncaged and it bares so much truth in today’s society especially with busy mums.

And that is that “the queen must eat first.”

You see as a busy mum your focus becomes solely on everyone else.

And you carve out no time for you to actually do the things that you want and that serve you.

Things like protecting your energy and confidence so that you look and feel a lot better.

The problem is you feel like everyone else will fold without your help so you spend your days chasing them serving them.

But you have no fulfilment.

No time for you.

Which leaves you to turning to the bottle of wine…

Or junk food binges to leave yourself temporarily feeling good only to crash the next day when you see the damage that’s been done.

Especially when you catch a glimpse of yourself in the mirror and see that your leggings are screaming for help.

Or you step on that sad step and hate the number that you see.

My advice is to start making your time,energy and health more of a priority.
